6/4 tubas - all models you know :)

Can you write here all models of 6/4 tubas which you know.How I wrote every models in all price range.And do you played on BMB tubas what do you think about them and are the materials are good in this instrument?

There are a lot of 6/4 horns out there. This isn't a good request for the forum as most aren't going to want to take the time to write. You might try searching the threads. You'll find a lot on those horns. I'll put a couple below but the list could get fairly large depending upon what you consider a 6/4 horn.

Miraphone - Siegfried, the new Hagen comes in 4/4, 5/4 and 6/4 I believe
Meinl-Weston - Fafner, Fasolt, etc.
Kanstul - Grand Orchestral
Conn - Many consider the 2XJ series to be 6/4
Cerveny - 693 and others
BMB - Never played one but have heard positive things about them.

I have two JW York and Sons model 91 Tubas (one is restored and slightly altered, one is in its original state - both very playable)

I also have a Conn 24/25J (upright and bell-front). The 2xJ's are most definitely 6/4 tubas (assuming the 6/4 designation refers to tubas of the largest variety). The 2xJ's are every bit as large - if not larger- as the York model 91.

I agree! I didn't realize it was that huge! I'd only ever seen the pictures you posted of it by itself, never with any sort of size reference. That's a beast!

The Kanstul horn is NOT a 6/4 sized tuba. It is only a 5/4 tuba. I've played them and sat next to somebody playing one. My Holton 345 dwarfs it when placed side by side. I doubt that the Cerveny 693 is a full 6/4 size either.
