Mine came off the line in '73 too. I suppose it was made in Sweden, but early '60s P1800s were made by Jensen in England. A guy in New York has a 1966 P1800, after the move to Sweden, that he has driven 3 million miles.
It does seem a little over-engineered. Luckily it doesn't need a lot of parts, but even a good set of tires gets kind of extravagant, the size not being very common.
