Gig bag for Holton 345

Post by gionvil »

Time has come to find a new gig bag for my Holton 345, and a search among producers on this side of the Atlantic has been worthless.. Few companies are producing tuba bags (f.e. Soundwear has stopped the production of tuba bags years ago), and the biggest standard models I could find are the ones made for kaiser tubas like the Fafner, and they don't fit the Holton size.
I am open to buy one from the U.S. but I don't know where to address my request. Is there any company making a model that fits the 345 or it should be made expressely based on the specific size of the horn?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Baltimore Brass stocks MW2165 sized Altieri bags which should fit a Holton just fine.

If you don't mind a top-loading gig bag, then consider a Götz bag. Talk to Stefan at hornboerse.de up in Munich, and he can help set you up with one. The Götz bags are all custom made, so I'm guessing it shouldn't be a problem.
