FS: vintage Conn (Illinois)

Post by Veloise »

Stumbled across while perusing estate sale listings. Offered to post it where the potential buyers hang out...

last week I was in line for a local estate sale and, upon hearing of my interest in the proffered euph, fellow shoppers said they'd hang it on the wall or plant it in the garden. NOPE!

Here are the details.

Conn tuba for sale
Dan Luper <d.luper@hotmail.com>

The serial number places its manufacture date in 1913. I have two mouth pieces for this horn, not pictured here.

I had it appraised at a musical instrument store in Champaign Illinois. They found the valves had some pitting, and the lead pipe has been repaired. Their estimate of worth was $2800 IF the repairs were made, and the repairs would be about $1000. They would replace lead pipe and valves for that.

With all this in mind I am asking $1800.00 (OBO)

If I can figure out how to attach photos, I will.

Pictures are worth a thousand words. If you can't upload them directly perhaps an photobucket link. Where you at in IL? I grew up outside Decatur.
