Community Band in Robinson IL Area

Post by Ames0325 »

School's almost over for the year. My folks moved to Robinson this year while I was at school so I don't know the area and have only been there twice. I have done a little research and haven't come up with much does anyone know of a community band in the area I could join for the summer? I am willing to drive up to about 45 minutes one-way. Thanks in advance for any help you might have.

Have you looked at the "Association of Concert Bands" web site?

http://www.acbands.org/

I see there are quite a number listed for Illinois.

Click on "Member Bands", then "State Listings".

Hope this helps.

"Always play with a good tone, never louder than lovely, never softer than supported." - author unknown.

Robinson, IL is on the eastern edge of the state, almost into Indiana. A bit south, too. I don't think you're too far from Terre Haute, that might be your best bet for a bigger community band. If not there, then start asking around in the area. There really are a lot of bands in Illinois.
