Conn 32J Hand Pain
I have been a tuba player for about 10 months. I have a Conn 32J with front valves. I have been experiencing pain in the part of my hand between the thumb and forefinger. I have fairly short fingers and can not reach the fourth valve easily. I am wondering what my options are for adjusting the horn, I do use a tripod for playing because I am a tad too short for the horn. Are there adjustments to my grip, or adjustments to the horn that can help my hand?

Re: Conn 32J Hand Pain
It might be possible to move the thumb ring to a more-suitable place that will work better with your hand. One size definitely does not fit all. Any good instrument repair shop can handle this- if you don't know of one in your area, we may be able to make a recommendation.
