Greyhound shipping

I'm trying to sell one of my tubas and I've heard that grethound is a pretty safe way to do that. I just a little confused on how the process works and how I should go about getting a buyer the insturment that way.

You'll pack the tuba in whatever you want it shipped in--I have shipped and received tubas in nothing more than their hard case. The tuba is then brought to your nearest Greyhound Package Express Station (Probably your nearest Greyhound station if in a larger urban area) and they will ship it to whichever station the buyer would prefer (though that might have to also be a Package Express station, but I'm not sure). Fairly straightforward shipping/receiving process and I'm sure you can find someone at your station that could help you get everything set, unless you are as unlucky as I am and the workers can't even tell you for sure when their package receiving/pickup personel work.

I have had overall good experiences with Greyhound. Their tracking system is a bit wonky, but it is cheap (much more so that FedEx/UPS/USPS) and decently fast.

If you choose to use Greyhound, I recommend having the horn shipped to a terminal that is frequented by actual Greyhound buses, even if it is considerably further away than your nearest bus terminal.

This may sound silly, but in some places, the final leg(s) of its journey may be serviced by bus lines other than Greyhound, and in that case, all bets are off.

Something I shipped FROM a REAL Greyhound station TO a REAL Greyhound station just rocketed its way to the west coast faster (seemingly) than I could have driven there myself.

Something shipped to me from a secondary (NOT Greyhound) station took upwards of a month to get to me.

I had a package lost for almost 2 months in the luggage compartment of a non-Greyhound bus. The only way it was found was when the bus was in the garage for servicing; I got a call from the mechanics that were working on the bus.....

I've had good luck with Greyhound but as has been said before here you want to ship to the larger terminals that Greyhound actually goes to. I'm lucky to have one in Ft. Myers FL. If I did not I'd gladly Drive to Tampa or Miami to make sure a parcel gets where it needs to go. Usually if someone is buying a tuba or other expensive item they won't mind going some distance to get it rather than have it sit at the local minimart that doubles as a bus stop. Don't count on their tracking system, it is not reliable. They are cheap though.

Just had a Winter hard case with an old tuba bell in it shipped via Greyhound to me from Waco TX Sunday and arrived in Buffalo today without a scratch....the dog is great
