valve springs

On the british baritone I played last night, two things; one is the valve throw is shorter, the second is the valve springs are lighter.
On my euph, there is nothing I can do about the valve throw, which is cumbersome for my hand size (which is why I play rotors when available) but the springs I'm wondering about. It is a Sterling Perentucci, and I'm going to assume the valve springs are stock. Has anybody put lighter springs in and still had fast enough rebound for it to work? At this point in fast passages I'm skipping every other note, and it's not a coordination problem because I found on the baritone I didn't have to skip every other note because the valves were so much easier to use. And, the euph valves are not sticky; no lubrication problem, it's just strength and valve throw. If I put in lighter springs, what would I try and where would I get them?

I've noticed that when people in the TNFJ talk about lighter valve springs, they are talking about Yamaha euphonium valve springs whether it is for a euph, baritone or tuba. That might be a place to start. I have them in my tuba and they give a nice light touch. The 1-800- stores like WWBW and Dillion probably could get them to you.

Ok, but the baritone is fine. It is the euph I want to fix. This says baritone springs, so that is why the question.

You can use "baritone" springs in euphs and tubas with no issue. Springs don't really have compatibility issues beyond simple physical width. If it moves the valves to your satisfaction, use it!

IOS, I bought those springs and they did help. I can play faster but the valve throw is still a bit much for my hand size. I have the bari now and a possible purchase in the works, and I kind of like the little thing. For a horn player, it is easy to play. For a euph player, might be a bit squirrel-y. Trying to get a Kelly 6 1/2 AL in some color other than Yikes.
