Berlin - tuba or low brass shops ??

Post by marccromme »

I will soon be visiting Berlin for a couple of days and would like to inquire where to look for a good tuba or low brass shop. I know about 'Der Blechbäser' by Thomas Jahn in Prinz-Eugen Strasse, whom I visited the last time. He builds some very fine bass trombones. But do you know another good low-brass or tuba shop?

Talk to "TheBerlinerTuba", and he can let you know. He has a repair shop, so he probably has some pretty neat stuff:

Not too far from Prinz-Eugen Strasse, either.

When I went to Berlin (wow, 6 years ago?), I didn't find much tuba stuff there. I think I heard there are a few other brass manufacturers there (VERY small shops), but none that build tubas.

The Musikinstrumenten-Museum Berlin is pretty cool and worth a visit. They had some historical brass instruments there, and definitely a few things in the tuba family... but I honestly can't remember now.

Thanks Bort - that place looks neat. I'll definitely pay it a visit. And yes, I know the museum, it's definitely worth a visit. Especially the great Wurlitzer ogan. What a piece of craftmansship! Best, Marc
