A good mate is a very good saddle maker. Back a few weeks ago he struck a problerm. Somebody wanted a saddle tree (frame) made out of plastic as the basis of his saddle. I'll cut out all the other crap BUT, The maker wanted to ship a 6.3 pound item out to here via UPS. Cost was several hundred $ US which converted to $750+ Aus $. The tree cost roughly $70.
I have imported tubas to here and had I had to pay that sort of rates could and wound not have done it.
It can be done at a reasonable cost - keeping in mind that the USA and AUS are half a world apart.
Thanks to my sister in law, who will receive a package then send via USPS mail to forward it it will be under $100.
Yep, it cost $$$ to bring things out here - either you want it and pay or forget it.
If somebody needs assistance here - I'm wiling to try to asist.
You think shipping a tuba to australia is expensive!?!?

Greyhound service to Oz is very spotty.
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
