This is a Tuba Exchange stenciled Jinbao 410 CC tuba, comparable to the better known Wessex and Mack Brass stencils.
The valves are fast and quiet. The slides are smoother than any I've experienced on a 410 before. They really give up nothing to any horn I've played except one, and are *obviously* better aligned and lapped than the ones on the MW 2145 I owned a few years ago.
It is modified in some ways that I think are positive. The lead pipe is now soldered directly to the bell, which helped reduce after-ring and improved the projection of the horn. Also, valves 1, 3, and 5 are (properly) vented. The pictures show the vent holes in 5 and 1. (3 is the same, I just couldn't get it in the picture.) The strap rings are off the horn to improve ergonomics for tuba player shaped people (!) but I have kept them and will be glad to include them in the sale.
The tuba is located near Huntsville, Alabama. You can PM me here or email me at bush dot md at google's email service. That is also the PayPal email address, if you want to cut to the chase. Just add $80 for Greyhound.
Pictures are here and here and here and here and here and here.
$900 plus shipping. A Wessex gig bag can be added for an additional $100.

Yep. That's what I (correctly) thought when I bought it for the same amount.bisontuba wrote:Screaming deal!
