Advice on old Martin sousaphone neck

I acquired an old Martin sousaphone recently but it has a pretty badly damaged neck. I can't seem to find a replacement part, so I'd appreciate any advice on if the original neck is repairable. The tuba has an ornate engraving on the bell that says "The Martin" and "Elkhart-Ind" if that helps any.

I took it to a repair shop locally and they tried to match the bore with a different neck to no avail. The Conn neck was too big and a king neck was too small by a couple of hairs. They recommended replacing the receiver with king parts, but I wasn't too thrilled with that because it wouldn't have matched the rest of the horn very well.

What are my odds of finding a Martin neck that is usable? Does it look like my original neck is repairable?

With very slight modifications... I've had good luck using Selmer/Bundy neck and bits. Allied part number S150 for the neck and S151 for the pair of bits. Your repairman could probably handle the minor modification if he's adept at working with brass.

It you want reproductions that are optimized specifically for your sousa... your best bet is to contact Martin Wilk.
