There seems to be a couple minor differences from the descriptions on the web sites:

Yamaha/Bach
leadpipe material: gold brass/red brass
valve stems: silver plated brass?/anodized aluminum
the lacquer version of the Bach has chrome plated slide tubes

"Red brass" is usually 90% copper and 10% zinc; "gold brass" (contains no gold) is usually 85% copper and 15% zinc; "Yellow brass" is usually 70% copper, 30% zinc.

So the difference ibetween "gold brass" and "red brass" is quite small. In an alloy of 85% copper, 15% zinc, I imagine that either term could apply.
