Credit Bureaus are a scam. Borrowing money is bad enough in and of itself. But such a small number of private companies should not hold that much knowledge or power over us. They've proven themselves untrustworthy.

How the #&!! did it get changed in the first place? Probably either human or mechanical/electronic error. Watch the first ten minutes of the 1985 dark spoof movie directed by Terry Gilliam (of Monty Python) on bureaucracy, "Brazil," for a dystopian expose on what can happen when a bug literally falls into the system. The best line in the movie: "Confess! Confess, man, before it ruins your credit rating!"

I am committed to the advancement of civil rights, minus the Marxist intimidation and thuggery of BLM.

Re: Credit Bureau scams
I don't do credit either except I use one credit card that gives me back a hundred a year or so. However, i was in the Experian mess where zillions of people's personal info was released into the Dark Web. They, in response, gave me a free year of credit monitoring. Daily, they send me the same "alert" that someone in Dallas has used my real name and address to make a Verizon inquiry. But Verizon knows nothing about it and neither does Experian, who keeps telling me to talk to Verizon, who eventually hangs up on me and then sends me an email asking how was my experience with them. I think maybe i need to change my SS#.
