Never played it in performance, but have practised it a bunch! Fun chart and not incredibly difficult.

excellent piece of music. It is (IMO) one of the more accessible solos that really has a lot of substance, is enjoyable to both player and listener. If you have a chance I would highly reccomend.
Pick up Pat Sheridans Storytellers CD... its on there.

The first and third movements are absolute joys to play (if you have the technical facilities to pull of the third which can get insane.) The second movement is where the "boring and repetetive" statement is absolutely true. The repetitve nature of that movement makes it mentally and psychologically taxing. If you can get through that movement, then it will prove to be a wonderful experience.

Sounds right to me. Thanks for pointing out that approach. I haven't thought of things that way in a while.
