But it's a York!
1. Acquire a silver plated Chinese 6/4 size bell.
2. Repeatedly damage and repair said bell to create that sought after rippled look.
3. Have "York" engraved on the bell.
4. Attach bell to any old tuba body, preferable with mismatched finishes in the tubing.
5. Put it up for sale on Tubenet for a ridiculous price, including the words "York sound" in your ad.
I apologize... feeling triggered.

Re: But it's a York!
I think if you engrave "York Sound" on the bell you have all your bases covered!
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Re: But it's a York!
When I was a toddler, I pronounced my l's as y's. Mom taught me to use the tongue properly by having me repeat, la la la look, and the y's as l's went away in favor of "accepted" diction before I entered pre-school.
So...with all of those classic early reader books in mind:
Look! Look!
Oh! Look!
A York!

Or, they played it once and said it was great, probably the best example of that model they'd ever played. Or they looked at it once and said, "nice horn" or just smiled...THE TUBA wrote:Also gotta say it was previously owned by [famous tuba player].

Whatever you do, make sure you register the name. Boosey and Hawkes bought it, let it lapse in America, Brook Mays registered it, and when B&H transferred their designs and the name to Schreiber & Keilwerth, they turned up at a U.S. show & Brook Mays had them bounced. Remember, kill all the lawyers first...
