JPacker 379Bb gig bag

Postby ronr » Fri Oct 12, 2018 11:46 pm

I’m so frustrated. I’m preparing to send back my third failed gig bag for my new horn. I’ve tried Wessex, Gard and Altieri, and nobody can figure out a top-loading gig bag that works for this horn. Anybody have any ideas? The ones I’ve purchased are all too small. I measured carefully for the Altieri bag, waited a full three months for it, and nope, same thing.

Tried a Miraphone bag? I love mine.
All that, plus $8.00, will get you a venti at Starbucks.
Or in my case, a large can of Folgers.

I have a used/short Gard bag here (tear on the interior lining that could be repaired with a whip-stitch, which I suspect will fit that instrument OK. ...perhaps $100 with postage included. (It's difficult to mail a tuba bag for much less than $25, because - even doing the best one can - they don't fit into tiny little boxes.

It zips down the side...but not all the way across the bell end (much like those made-in-China Reunion Blues bags - made during the era after Glenn Cronkhite sold the original name of his company).
