Re: Besson Recording Bass at Baltimore BrassJust on a quick browse I noticed they have some cool old Conn tubas too. One is a rotary horn even. Neat stuff!

Re: Besson Recording Bass at Baltimore BrassThey've now identified this as a Besson 785 BBb. Great price given that it appears to be in excellent condition.

Re: Besson Recording Bass at Baltimore BrassI've played that Conn rotary if it's the same one that's been there for quite a while. I like it, but don't have the room.............

Re: Besson Recording Bass at Baltimore Brass
I hated that tuba when I played it almost 2 years ago. It had 1 good note, low BBb, which was the most huge, awesome, thunderous, outrageous low BBb I've ever played. Every other note sucked. I couldn't get anything close to a scale out of that tuba, no matter how hard I tried. Needs a valve job? Air leaks? Since then has been fixed? Perhaps I'm just a terrible player? ![]() I wanted so badly to like that tuba, but it was not on the same planet for me. B&S GR-41
