Just got back from attending the Northwest Big Brass Bash in Eugene, Oregon this weekend, and all I can say is WOW!!! Michael Grose did a fantastic job organizing this event, and the Big Brass Bash committee did an outstanding job with all the foot work and details. Even the weather cooperated, and we were able to stay dry and not too hot for the outdoor concert this afternoon.
To top it off, all the PERFOMANCES WERE GREAT!!! For our listening enjoyment there were incredibly talented students, impressive tuba and euphonium amateurs, and the outstanding professionals, Matt Tropman, Eugene Dowling, and Velvet Brown, Rarely have I heard so many great performances from such a diverse group of tuba and euphonium players in one place. Thanks to everybody who made this such a fun event.
