Bass Bone
I have an almost new Besson 743 I need to sell. It plays great and looks better. Single trigger, standard valve, closed wrap, .562, 9 1/2 inch heavy brass bell, lacquer. Like new hard case. $700.00 plus shipping. Email me for pictures alstark@bellsouth.net. If you are close to Atlanta, come get it. I just don't use it anymore. I always seem to pick up my 943 double or big tenor. It's kind of in between.

I don't know how much this will ultimately go for, but I used to play a Benge 290 just like this one:

What a CREAM-PUFF of a bass bone (the one I used to play; I know nothing about this specific instrument)! The Benge 290 may be the most under-rated brass instrument I've ever played. This thing seemed to read my mind and put out just the amount of "edge" I wanted. Bar none, the easiest-to-play bass trombone I've ever tried. Projected well, with very limited "laser effect".

Here's another vote for the 290 if you can get one cheap - a guy at my school has one, and I almost like it more than mine - the double trigger range is very freeblowing compared to a stock Bach 50. The 290 can be a little on the dark side for a big band / commercial use, but it will still put out the edge like Joe B said.
