I have an Eastman tuba where the silver plating is starting to majorly come off on select areas like the trigger key, the sides of the first valve, and the side of the main body. I don't quite want to strip the plating, but the splotch of raw brass next to silver is driving me insane.
What should I do about it? I'm new to doing anything to my tuba outside of basic maintenance stuff, so I'm not sure what would be good to do for this.
My silver plating is coming off. What now?

Is it wearing off, or coming off in flakes/chunks? Do you regularly wipe down the tuba after playing?
