So I'm going to Boston
I'll be in Boston with my daughter for a convention 2/26 through 3/2. Any music stores I should check out? I'll have some time on my hands while she's at her convention ( I can only take sightseeing for so long)

There’s Virtuosity which is right across from Symphony Hall. They don’t usually have too much in the way of tubas though. Last time I was there they just had a euphonium and a couple smaller tubas, but they do have some cool historical instruments to check out.

Virtuosity is a great hang! If you want to play tubas, Needham Music down the road a ways has a few Eastman 6/4 tubas available to try. You need to call to make an appointment, though.

Re: So I'm going to Boston
I'm local for the most part (still root for MN sports), and i am wondering where a tubist should hang out myself...
Poked my nose in on Virtuosity once or twice, but it is off my beaten path, so i can't comment usefully on it.

Re: So I'm going to Boston
I had a great time in Beantown. Didn't have a chance to hit any music stores. Did most of the tourist stuff (Bunker Hill, North Church, Old state house, ect). I'm a train nut as well and spent alot of the time sightseeing from some of the commuter trains out to Fitchburg and Rockport. Boston has excellent public transportation!!! (cheap as well with the 1 week pass). Thanks to Robert for offering to let me check out his horn collection. Sorry I just ran out of time. I'd like to visit when it's warmer. Perhaps next time.humBell wrote:Did ya end up seein' any cool places?

Some places are not entirely safe without back-up.
