Big Ugly Sousa

Post by Tim Jackson »

The plague has canceled 3 weeks of my work so far. Not to count what it took to get these booked. A large wedding and a major fundraiser gala hurt the most$$$. I am very thankful and blessed that everyone I know is well and ok at this point.

So, I finally have time to put my sousa project back together.

Started with one beautiful white flower planter. Disassembled and had the valve section reworked at my friend's home shop. Replace a bent valve, lead pipe, and receiver. Cleaned the body and repaint (my unique uglitize process) reassemble and...

one more big ugly "featherweight" sousas for my brass band gigs. Yea, I like 'em ugly and old lookin'. Everyone always asks "how old is that horn?" Now I have completed 2 fiber redos.

Stay safe my friends!
