Recently I had the chance to visit the workshop of Matthias Vogt in Leipzig (Germany). Matthias builts, rebuilts, restores and repairs tubas with great passion and skills. As an apprentice he worked some years at Hirsbrunner's in Switzerland, and after that in a variety of other workshops, before he as an "Instrumentenbaumeister" started his own business in Leipzig. By his hands some old tubas are not only brought to life again, but they can meet the highest modern standards as well.
It certainly is worth the effort to visit his website now and then.

If I ever win the lottery that's the first place I'm going.
