The recording is a live recording of Wand's last performance. It is a two disc set released by BMG Entertainment and carries with it an RCA Red Seal.

Also on the performance was Schubert 5 and a beautiful interview with Wand entitled "Serving Music With Dedication"

I would guess that the tuba player is Markus HÃ¶tzel, he has been at NDR since 2000. He also plays the bottom part in the Melton tuba quartet.

If its his last performance.It is Markus HÃ¶tzel. I'm sure he sounds phenomenal. As does Walter Hilgers. Also could be Alexander von Puttkamer. What year was it recorded?
