You certainly have chosen someone who was both important and influential when it comes to our instrument. I have yet to hear anyone say anything but positive things about him. In most cases, the positives involve the use of superlatives. I only wish I could have met him. Maybe even studied with him, as some here did.

I like this idea. since I don't really know jack about notable, important, or 'famous' tuba artists.
