off the top, I'd say total waste. (for the bbq grill cover)
one of those cloth covers would be better, lighter, less ugly.
based on a number of the items mentioned, it seems the actual player can be one of the culprits (the wallet, music, etc).
What have you found inside your instrument?

Wow, this thread doesn't seem to want to go away.
I noticed that there was something inside of my sousaphone, so I spun it around and out came a cell phone. I had been missing it for several months (it was on a band trip after marching season had been over for a few months). I also found a piece of sheet music.
Sometimes your own stupidity amazes you...

Re: What have you found inside your instrument?
once in middle school while tuning the band director told my tuba buddy to pull out a hair. Ironically enough a hair literally came out of the slide.
Another time we were playing in middle school and there was water in one of the slides that wouldnt come out so i pulled out the slide for my amigo and a lollipop stick full of hair and dirt drops out.
Once my puppy got into my tuba. ( i have a really small dog) so the puppy got all the way to the bottom of the tuba before i realized he was in there and i had to carefully tilt him out of it.

Everytime I look down into my bell I see "C-88" (CC 188). It's kind of a unique thing to think about, some german guy putting my horn together in the Miraphone shop.
