approx 16 lbs of brass @ $1.70...a junk Pan American, and a not-quite-as-junk Conn. Both had huge numbers of leaks, and I've grown tired of hauling them around.
$27.20 each, $54.40 total. Considering I paid less than $20 total for both, that's a good investment.
Shoulda seen the looks on the faces of the scrapyard workers!
What's an old Eb sousie worth?

Next time you have some 'scrap'... give me a shout. No kidding! Just one crook off one of those horns could have been worth the scrap price. And.... as horns fall by the wayside, the parts get harder to find and naturally, the prices go up. Of course, you've gotta consider the cost of transportation, too. But a pretty good sized box can be shoved in a Greyhound cargo hold and sent coast to coast for $50.eupher61 wrote:yeah, Dan, I agree, but no one would offer me much for the souzies. I called 3 shops, including the one where I got the Conn, and they all offered $5-10 bucks for both. Being the eco-conscious guy I am, I sat in my car in line for 25 minutes to scrap 'em.
