What's an old Eb sousie worth?

approx 16 lbs of brass @ $1.70...a junk Pan American, and a not-quite-as-junk Conn. Both had huge numbers of leaks, and I've grown tired of hauling them around.

$27.20 each, $54.40 total. Considering I paid less than $20 total for both, that's a good investment.

I'm pretty sure your local TGI Fridays will buy it from you for a wall decor. or some other restaraunt like that! that would be neat to see an old conn Eb hanging on the wall when you walk in.

yeah, Dan, I agree, but no one would offer me much for the souzies. I called 3 shops, including the one where I got the Conn, and they all offered $5-10 bucks for both. Being the eco-conscious guy I am, I sat in my car in line for 25 minutes to scrap 'em.

Just to restate, since I've had 2 PMs:

I sold these 2 souzies as scrap. They were worthless as souzies, and no one nearby wanted they for parts.

Got my $54 and celebrated with an Arthur Bryant's combo (ham and beef) fries and a Bud.

Next time you have some 'scrap'... give me a shout. No kidding! Just one crook off one of those horns could have been worth the scrap price. And.... as horns fall by the wayside, the parts get harder to find and naturally, the prices go up. Of course, you've gotta consider the cost of transportation, too. But a pretty good sized box can be shoved in a Greyhound cargo hold and sent coast to coast for $50.
