Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if any of you could give me some feedback about this issue
I currently have a MW Thor and I have being using in my current job the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra in Venezuela and altough this horn is doing the job quite well I dont fell entirelly confortable with it. I have being considering switching to either one of the PT6 models or the Rudolf Meinl 5/4 model and I was wondering if you have opinions about these models and how they would compare to the Thor.
Thank you very much,
Daniel Sanchez.

Since that is the case, I wouldn't be in a hurry to switch, inless the conductor clearly wants a different sound. You will get a range of opinions, but you, your conductor and your section should spend some "face time" with any alternatives before switching, even for well-defined reasons.dasanchezr wrote:this horn is doing the job quite well
All the tubas you mention are world-class instruments, and each has its benefits and quirks. If you are touring the US any time soon, perhaps you could convince some of your colleaugues who own other pro-quality CCs to meet you and let you try them: solo and with the section.

I know one thing: you sound really great on that Thor. I've heard you once in concert, and many times on recordings.
