"There is no reason to spend thousands of dollars on an instrument your child may only play for a few months. It makes more sense to ensure there is a real interest prior to making a big investment in an instrument. We carry a line of student level instruments designed and priced so that everyone can afford to discover the musician within."
I say it looks like a POS (but I'm no expert in s*** )
Looks to me like a friend of the seller is bidding the item up too. The bidder identified as, "a***l" with Zero feedback has bid several times against himself according to this page: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0029357248
Miraphone 5050 - Warburton BJ/RF mpc YEP-641S(recently sold), DE mpc (102 rim; I-cup; I-9 shank) Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches: "Always play with a good tone, never louder than lovely, never softer than supported." - author unknown.

Actually, its the proxy bidding thing at work there. "v***u" placed a bid on May 21, and "a***l" kept bidding on it until he surpassed the other guy's bid from days ago. On the surface, it looks fishy, but I have experienced enough eBay (much to my wife's chagrin) to see that there isn't anything wrong with that.

Yup. I've won several auctions (for less than my max bid) where I've been listed in the bid history several times consecutively.

Ok thanks for the clarification. I haven't bought anything from ebay in about 8 years. I don't remember the proxy bid increments actually showing up before in bidding history. Maybe they did and I just don't remember.
Thanks again.

Those repeated "no-bid bids" appear after you've placed a bid with a decent-sized cushion, when someone tries to pass you but falls short - above the disclosed number and below your "ceiling." Your bid automatically increases to beat out the other guy. I saw this horn too, tried with no success to find out about it - but only because a friend is looking for a decent cheap horn for his kid. My ebay days are over for a while.
