Motorola Razr V3m (The red one) I honsetly have had more problems with this phone then anybody elses phones (my friends) I would not recommend it I don't know if I just got the bad phone outta the bunch but I would definatly look at other phones first.

I have one of those, too, although it's gray. I haven't had a whole lot of problems with mine (I'm keeping it for another two years), except just a couple of annoying things like those stupid volume controls on the side. I usually keep my phone on vibrate, and quite often I turn the ringer off by mistake. My wife has the same phone (in pink), but hers has been acting up of late (battery issues), so she's getting a new Krazr.tubatom91 wrote:Motorola Razr V3m (The red one) I honsetly have had more problems with this phone then anybody elses phones (my friends) I would not recommend it I don't know if I just got the bad phone outta the bunch but I would definatly look at other phones first.

It amazes me, though, that I lived 38 perfectly good years without a cell phone, but since I've had one, I get very uncomfortable if I'm out of the house without it.

My mom had to get hers replaced because of some battery thing. She said that her phone got extremely hot and then died. and just a week ago she dipped hers in water. My side volume button doesn't do anything when the phone is closed only works when its open. the 2 worst things about my phone is The message icon at the top of the screen hasn't gone away since the day I got the phone. and when I miss a call and open the phone it freezes the whole phone 9/10 times.

I have an Audio Vox 8610 'pay-as-yo-go' VirginMobile phone -- which uses Sprint service. It costs me $5/mo (their minimum). I have to add $15 once every 3 months and it's done automatically through my charge card. Works fine when I need it... which is infrequently.

LG, branded with a Cingular logo, on the plan at my folk's office where I work. Don't ask model number; I don't have the foggiest. It's way more than I need, or possibly even desire, but it's what came with the plan. It has tones I don't use; it has games I don't play; it has shopping access I don't want; it has a camera I don't need. But when I'm out on an errand and something comes up, I will admit it's handy to have to save and combine trips for stuff -- when I don't forget to put it in my pocket.
OK for all you guys who have to wear a "dress shirt" to the office: if you can't do this yourself, have your wife, daughter, mother, mother-in-law, cousin, aunt, etc., or their male counterparts if they sew, or at the worst, find an retired person at church who sews as a hobby, and sew or have sewn a vertical subdivision in your breast pocket of your shirts.
The standard shirt pocket width is 4 3/4 or 4 7/8 inches wide. Some are wider. Match the thread that is used to sew the shirt pocket onto the shirt, usually white, but can be different colors with different colored or patterned dress shirts. Measure over 1 5/8 inches from the edge nearest the front button holes. Sew the shirt pocket vertically, thus subdividing it. You then have a place to put your cell phone when you don't have a jacket on, and it won't "fall down" in your pocket and either look unkempt or cause you to look like you're contemplating yourself trying to answer your cell phone as you try to dig it out of your pocket. Better yet, it has less chance of falling out of your pocket when you bend over, as to tie your shoes, etc.
A few dollars' worth of thread and a card of extra bobbins at the nearest notion store, a rainy afternoon when you can't mow the lawn anyway, and I sewed my own shirts. Now all my shirts are so equipped, and I am quite pleased with my tailoring.
And for those of you who can't resist: the 1 5/8 inch side is perfect for a really nice Montblanc, Waterman, etc., or to show off your hobby of using a model lathe to turn your own exotic wood pens with the slightly larger barrel that makes it easier to hold and write, but don't always fit in the "pencil pocket" as usually found in some shirts otherwise.
Hey, why put up with all the "geek" or "nerd" jokes about pens in the pocket. Take it up a notch. Have the shirts custom tailored, buy or make an expensive quality pen, and make a statement that means something on the utility side of things.
What do I put in the small side? Usually nothing, sometimes a couple of Bic Clic pens. I've tried the expensive pens, and being left handed, most roller balls smear on me; the ink, being more akin to fountain ink, doesn't dry quickly enough. I don't get near a fountain point, Montblanc's supposed "left handed nibs" to the contrary notwithstanding; and one I really liked (yes, it was an off-brand) did not have available refills. Bic Clics actually write the cleanest for my left handed-ness.
I know that is a departure from just the cell phone aspect of this thread, but if you take cell phones for what they are, a convenience turning into a necessity that is starting to get "dressed up" with all these features, then why not pair it with a fine writing instrument for which the same can be said?!

I've got the Treo 650 as well. I occasionally perv over newer models, but with some geek chops, this phone does everything!Greg wrote:Now if I could find a freeware metronome and tuner program, I'd be sold permenantly.

I re-upped with Cingular and got a free, simple, non-flip phone. I don't want pictures or any bells and whistles on my phone. This is a later model of my old one with buttons that are easier to mash accurately with my big fat fingers.
I dropped it on a cement floor and stepped on it solidly once and did no damage.

Interesting commentary on our society that a phone can be described as 'sexy'. Not so long ago a 'phone' was just a nondescript black plastic object that hung on the wall.ZNC Dandy wrote:Samsung T619 from T-Mobile. Great phone, very durable. Although id love to have the new Porsche Design T'9521 phone. Its sexy as hell.

I'm going to poop on this thread's party.
A better alocation of the money that you spend on your cellphones and other trendy gadgets might be an IRA or some other investment, like maybe your kids' college fund.
Driving while talking or texting on them is the new DWI. Or DWT. And rightly so. It looks stupid and is dangerous.
Humanity would do well to slow down a bit and take a look at itself and its motivations.

Ditto. And would that we return to those fiscally more responsible times.Interesting commentary on our society that a phone can be described as 'sexy'. Not so long ago a 'phone' was just a nondescript black plastic object that hung on the wall.
