Video Camera with USB

Post by Thomas Maurice Booth »

Is anyone aware of a good video camera that can be plugged directly into the computer for recording (such as to submit for an audition, etc.)? If not, is there a good video camera that would somehow accomplish the same idea? I am hoping to spend <$200 but will consider other options.

Thanks!

Small digital video cameras (those for sale in the $89-149 price point) take pretty good video considering their low cost. My younger brother has a model similar to this (same company) and I was surprised at the quality of the video and ease of use:

I bought one of these and use it weekly to record my marching band performances, my kids dance and violin performances, and general home movies. We are very impressed.

How is the audio on these two cameras? I am thinking that is the most important aspect of the camera for my purposes. Thanks.

I have been impressed... probably as good or better than a stand alone $100 digital audio recorder.

I would have to agree. Make sure any model you buy has a tripod mount.
