This "hip-hop" culture is destroying the world. I saw a documentary on the Chinese basketball star Yau Ming. Nike set up an outdoor basketball court in his hometown. It looks like something right out of the 'hoods of South Los Angeles, complete with graffiti. I saw that and thought that the kids there had done it, but I was wrong. It was designed that way to look like something taken right out of the United States. You know how you could tell the kids didn't make the graffiti? There was no profanity.

I think that you are blaming the wrong monster for destroying the world. Blame Nike and irresponsible capitalism for destroying the world. Hip-hop makes money, so corporations twist it and use it for their own ends, just like any other form of popular culture.

Yeah, people like the sordid, degrading, and violent message of hip-hop because Nike tells them to.
