Greetings all-
I am writing to inform you about the brand new Tuba Wiki.
http://www.tubawiki.org
For those who are not familiar - a wiki is an online encyclopedia that users can add to and edit. The most popluar wiki around would have to be Wikipedia.
Wikis can be focused around anything, this one is focused around tubas (and euphoniums). I have dreams about this site being a large resourse for all things tuba. Have a question about a particular horn model? Artist? Solo? Want to know who played what in a certain orchestra and when? This is the place for all of that.
The only thing I need now is you. Wikis are no good if no one adds to them. I've set up the front page to promote a little writing that will snowball into something good. I emplore you all to take a look at this and make an effort to add something. Right now, I've only got the webspace for two months. By then, I figure it will be obvious if there is interest in this or not.
E-mail or PM me with questions about the wiki.
Thanks.

I think we can appreciate the effort but why reinvent the wheel... All the information you could ever want about tubas & euphs is right here. Just for fun, I went to Wikipedia today and searched for tuba to see their description... At the bottom of the page was a link to "Tubenet Sean Chisham's popular Tubenet discussion forum"!!!WoodSheddin wrote:Rome was not built in a day

I will be the first to admit the amount of great information on this site. I am / was never trying to take away from TubeNet's importance.I think we can appreciate the effort but why reinvent the wheel... All the information you could ever want about tubas & euphs is right here.
I was merely trying to create a more "streamlined" way for doing research. I thought that a series of pages linked to other related pages would help a tuba / euph player gather a large amount of information in a concise amount of time.
I'll keep this up for a while. Please feel free to contribute.
