I just bought a Reunion Blues for my 186 (an older BBb 5 valve with 16 1/2" bell) and I am very impressed with the fit. I would recomend this bag to anyone.

I keep my 186 in a Tuxedo bag.....It does a great job of keeping the tuba safe. I haven't gotten a single dent in it due to the bag. The only problem I have had is that there is a piece of cloth inside of the bag right over the valves and it has become torn on one of the 4 sides and the stiching came undone. I tried to sew it back myself....but it was too challenging to sew in a pitch black bag! However, when I got this bag it was not completely new, so that could have been part of the problem. The bag still does a great job of protecting the horn!

I went from a Tuxedo bag because of the same problem you are having. I bought my Tuxedo bag new and within a year the valves started snagging on that piece of cloth and now it's almost completely ripped off. It did offer very good protection from dents for a soft bag though. Very thick padding (as does thr Reunion Blues bag) keeps the horn as well protected as a soft bag can.mTaUrBkA wrote:I keep my 186 in a Tuxedo bag.....It does a great job of keeping the tuba safe. I got my gig bag for my 186 Mirafone in Indonesia. My ex-wife was Indonesian and I took a job in that country so our daughters could be close to their grandparents, aunts, uncle, and other relatives. I had the gig bag I bought from Mirafone in Sun Valley many years before, and it had gotten pretty ragged.
My mother-in-law noticed this and she began making a custom-made gig bag, even though she knew nothing about tubas. I told her what I wanted on the bag: long "purse-type" straps; backpack straps; and two built-in accessory pouches. She made some patterns, much the way clothing patterns are made. Then she took these to an auto upholstery shop in her home village. I got to choose the color I wanted.
The results were amazing. The price was only Rp. 50,000, which was about US $20 in 1995. (The Rupiah has been significantly devalued since that time.)
I have thought about taking the idea of making gig bags like this (in mass quantities) to auto uphostery shops in Tijuana but I would need to know if anyone would be willing to work with this project.
Send me a PM if you are interested.

I don't know; I just want to know if they bring more happy, and whether buying a watch will bring my family good luck!
