Topics expunged...

Post by UDELBR »

Hey Sean:

I notice that some topics (notably in the Off Topic section) have disappeared. It's your board and as such you can of course delete as you see fit, but what gives?

Thanks.

I pulled out all the heated political discussion and put them in a separate area.

The politics user group. Go to the top of the page, there's a link for "user groups". Click that, then look for a pull-down list of groups. Select "Politics", and get yourself signed up. Once you sign up, you'll see the "Politics" topic at the bottom of the topics list.

You've got a lot of catching up to do!!!

Sean, may I suggest putting some sort of permanent notice in the off-topic area -- maybe a "Politics" topic that has a sticky -- telling people how they can access political discussion if they want to? Your site, of course, but it might help "old folks" find their way, and direct newcomers to the appropriate venue.

I would rather keep it a dirty little secret. This sites primary mission is the discussion of music. Everything else is superfluous.

Nothing like discussing politics and religion semi- anonymously to bring out the Hyde in normally peaceable citizenry

Seriously, though, it's great to know that Sean and Bill and the Joe's and myself and everyone else can get riled up and argue politics and religion, but at the endo of the day we'd probably buy each other a beer ('cxept me...being 19 and all that'd not be good...eh, you get the point).

Beat me to it, Wayne. ;-)

I'd just as soon have a coke, but if it takes getting Bill drunk to admit that us right-winged wackos are right, it's worth it.

Actually, Bill, with your political views and the way you argue for them, you remind me of one of my friends here at Tech (who I incidentally went to HS with as well). And he drinks like a brick. I'll bring him along if I'm ever up in New England. 8)
