Blue Note Tuba Strap
Does anyone have any pictures of a Blue Note tuba strap with images on how it attaches to the horn? Thanks in advance to those who can help.

While I don't have any pictures that actually demonstrate what it looks like, I have been using one for a few years now and have been very pleased with it. My tuba is a Meinl-Weston 32, which is a bit heavier than other tubas its size due to its thick metal. What I like best about Blue Note straps is that they don't have metal hooks, so they are a lot less likely to cause scratches on the instrument. All pieces are either fabric or plastic. They loop around the instrument rather than hooking to it.
Lately, I've gotten to the point where I just leave it on the instrument all the time and just stuff it between the fourth-valve tubing on the back when I'm not using it.
I find it really handy when performing the National Anthem with my quintet at sports events.

I don't know if it will work, But i'm going to try thin strips of 3M non slip drawer liner. Hopefully that will solve the problemZ-Tuba Dude wrote:I have occassionally noticed a bit of a problem with the straps, that wrap around the bows of the horn, slipping from the position where I originally put them. Has anyone else ever had that problem? If so, how do you solve it?

I got lucky... I found a spot between 2 braces that keeps the strap in place on the upper bow. The lower strap doesn't seem to move (at least not yet).Mark wrote:Careful, this stuff might damage the lacquer if it is left in contact with the tuba too long.Tubaryan12 wrote:I don't know if it will work, But i'm going to try thin strips of 3M non slip drawer liner.
