Looks like a nice deal...

From the owner:

"Freddie" is about 30 years old. (Serial Number 81845) Built in the 70s, the horn has 5 normal rotary valves and the 5th valve is a thumb rotary that acts as a flat 1st valve that gives the horn wonderful intonation down low.

Attached are some pics of the tuba. It has been beat up a bit over time, but only have about 5 dents in him. I've taken a picture of the biggest. 'Bout the size of a 50 cent piece.

The horn is currently in the repair shop getting oiled, shined and chem cleaned. It will be ready on Friday.

It is a great horn....very used, but an awesome piece of machinery.

I wondered if that was Kabin's horn. I went to undergrad with Kabin for a while. He is a terrific player and a lot of fun to be around. He teaches at a college in Ark I believe. If he says it's a good horn, then I'm sure it is.

$5,800 plus shipping for an HB-2, even one that needs a thumb ring and some work, is a really good price. I'd say someone got a bargain.
