I would like to know how effective this method is. Also has anyone had sucess with their "breathing gym"?

I can't recommend this book enough. I use it everyday. It is a great fundamental method for all ages, and the acc. CD is great. A word of caution - don't use the storage for the CD in the back of the book, it scratches the heck out of it.

+1 from me also. I own both the brass and breathing gym and they're both equally amazing. Whenever I have the time, I'll spend two hours on the brass and breathing gym alone before working on etudes, solos, etc and I really notice how productive my practice is after doing the books.

now that we have heard about the good experiences with it I wonder if anyone has found it to be a waste of time and money or just not worth it. I ask because I am considering purchasing it when I get some money and money is a rare occurance for college students

I've used it to start my band rehearsals for a year now, middle school through young high school. The positive change in their overall sound has been fantastic. It's also helped bring focus and provide a more productive class.
