Travis,

That looks like a very nice program. Wish I could attend but it's a 3 day drive from FL.

I also love Saint-Saens' - "The Swan". Just hope there aren't any cellist there. They think they own that piece.

Hey -

To tie in Leonard Falcone, you could play his arrangement of the Klengel Concertino (available from T/E Press) or you could play the unaccompanied Mazurka by his brother Nicholas Falcone.

It looks like a great program! I wish I could be there.

Good luck!
- Jamie

I recently accompanied on piano Brad Say playing Prescott Poem by Drew Fennell (any relation to Fred?) on euphonium. It was written for Matt Murchison, who recorded it on his CD. It's a very audience-accessible piece of about 6 minutes in length. It begins with a slow, dreamy section that contains a long cadenza requiring extensive range. Then it develops a fast, technically challenging section with a big ending.

FWIW, Brad Say took third place in the 2006 NABBA Low Brass Technical Competition with this piece.

That seems like a lot of music, make sure your chops will be able to hold up through all of that. Most people I see program 4 pieces (30 minutes) with a 10 minute intermission and then 3 pieces (20 minutes) to have an hour long concert. I think any recital over an hour is recipe for disaster.

[quote="dfaeuph803"]Looks good Travis, I'd like to try to make it over to Akron for this so any more info on the concert would be awesome.

Andrew

Hey Andrew - check out the calendar section (10th June) for the information and logisitics. Hope you can make it!
