IÂ´m not sure, but my suggestion: PerlhÃ¼hner (Peacock ?? Perle = pearl, Huhn = Chicken, hen)

- fairly small head and thin neck,
- kinda plump body
- greyish colour made up of dark feathers with bright spots on them, those can be told apart when up close. (canÂ´t really see that on your pic, but seems like it)

Dose boids would be guinea fowl. They are used as a poor manâ€™s watch dog. They roost in trees at night and if anyone approaches they make an awful noise! Also desired by fly tiers for their spotted feathers used in tying salmon flies.

Iffin ya gonna make a meal of 'em, wait until the fall season. In some states, they are regulated in seasons like other wild game. Also remember that nuttin wild eats good when kiddt in the warmer months, xcept fish.

Don't make me tell you about worms in animals during the summer months.

I hate those birds!! Some of that species are REALLY ANNOYING. The guinea hens that I knew made an incessant racket and got in the way of cars all the time. kill em, Cook em, and eat em is my advice

Another interesting thing is these birds mate for life. As stupid as they seem to be, they are easily trained to stay in the vicinity of your property. All's you gotta do is get a pair (one male and one female) and keep the female in a wire cage out in the yard for about two weeks. The male (as stupid as he is) will stay very close to the cage. After two weeks, you can turn the female loose and neither of them will ever leave the vicinity. The old timers in the country knew what they were doing when they kept a couple of pairs of these birds around.

Are they noisy at night? I used to have neighbors who had a peacock that was noisier than any mockingbird at 3 AM!
