Re: movies?
Hey Bloke, bloke wrote:Further, how many of us do NOT go see movies anymore because we are simply assaulted with "too much information" about the scum-trash-perv-kook-psycho actors/actresses who portray characters in these movies?
Edit
...but I can no longer "put out of my mind" the *placenta-eating bastard-birthing Pluto-religion-embracing type of info with which we are regularly assaulted regarding this corporate group of sickies.

JW is pretty low on my list of people to hate. However, the things that bother you about todays actors: a)don't bother me personally, b)don't endanger anyone but themselves (mostly). For your information though, I've never read a p------l blog. I'd be interested for you to read the second article that came up on your google search. I'd like a lot of people to read that.
Peace.

I'm with you both here, so what's the difference in *&%$bag's between Clinton and JW?TubaRay wrote:For my money, you can.Doc wrote: If I were to think draft-dodgers like Clinton are shitbags, yet I didn't serve, can I still legitimately feel that way?I don't believe so.Doc wrote:I didn't volunteer either. I have fallen off the movie train myself...
When I was little, I saw Aladdin four times in theaters. Now, I have only gone to the movies once in the past 6-9 months. I am required by law to see the DaVinci Code, so I might as well get that over with the day it opens... Nowadays, I will only see a movie if I know it will be worth the $$$.

Hey Doc,Doc wrote:Ron, Arnold, and Sonny didn't just sit around bloviating and pontificating and demanding us to give them credence just because they were actors. They put their money where their mouth was - they ran for office. They also won.
While entitled to their beliefs, these know-it-alls can't say the same thing:
Doesn't matter what party you embrace, actors are used by all sides to champion various causes because of their visibility and attraction via their celebrity status.

What office did Heston hold again? Maybe that's when I lived in Europe?

p.s. Planet of the Apes is one of the few movies I actually own. His actions now might be different than actions earlier in life, but he's made his positions public, what more can one ask?

I guess I didn't realize legal power meant so much these days.â–ˆ One of 'em had no legal power over me and the other one did/does...??
Me too.â–ˆ One of 'em preferred cigarettes and the other prefers cigars...??
You must be kidding, or maybe you're just off your game tonite, I'll pass.
â–ˆ One of 'em portrayed solders and the other one used solders...??
I can't speak for you guys, but I bet some of us have been there.â–ˆ One of 'em was often seen innumerable times on the silver screen with gorgeous starlets and the other one was seen innumerable times on the small screen with a stupid fat chick...??
Still not getting it.......... so the difference between two draft dodgers is that you like one of them?â–ˆ One of 'em said, "I've worked as hard as I've ever worked on anything in my life, and I could not do it." and the other one said, "If I insult you, you can be goddamn sure I intend to."...??
See you at the movies.
Peace.

I couldn't agree with you more. Which is my circle back to people recruiting others to do jobs they themselves were too fearful to do. That's the whole point of my dislike/hatred. How about this blokebaby: You send me by pm any p--------l document you'd like me to read that takes 15-30 mins of my time and you take your quote up above and use your own google search to read about others who might not have the stomach (or too much of it) to defend our country.bloke wrote:Still not getting it.......... so the difference between two draft dodgers is that you like one of them?
See you at the movies.
Further I don't want anyone defending the country in which I live if they do not have the will nor the stomach.
Peace to all.

Back to the subject of movies...
This past Christmas I flew to Vietnam. I waited so long to get my tickets that I ended up flying on five different airlines from Los Angeles to Saigon (via San Francisco, Narita, and Singapore) and back to Los Angeles (via Singapore and Incheon--they don't go to Seoul anymore!) I flew to Narita on ANA-All Nippon Airlines. I can't remember what movies they showed. I was in a bad place to watch movies. From Narita to Singapore, on Singapore Airlines, we each had our own individual movie screen in the cheap coach seats. Singapore, when I lived in Southeast Asia ten years ago, was always notoriously obvious about their censorship. However, when I wanted to watch a movie, the first thing it asked for was my age. (It's a common question in Singapore, so it didn't bother me.) And then my choice of movies came up. I watched The Upside of Anger and Wedding Crashers, along with some better, locally produced cinematic fare from Singapore. To my surprise, the movies were shown uncut and uncensored, complete with nuditity and cussing. The Upside of Anger was fine. I liked that movie. But Wedding Crashers, well, I kept trying to turn it away, but I kept coming back to it. I fell asleep and it came on again. So I ended up watching the whole thing.
