I had pretty good luck with regular automotive grease on a noisy Yamaha BB641. Had to regrease every couple of months. It never made the action silent, but certainly reduced the worst of the clacking. Didn't seem to slow down the action noticably.

You can try some heavy grease, but also check the bumpers--if they're rubber, they may have hardened up and gotten a bit noisier.
Another possibility is bearing wear either on the paddles themselves or on the rotors. Also check for any loose parts, such as the balls attaching to the rotor stop arms.
Many folks just go down to the hobby store and order some heavy-duty Du-Bro ball links and install them:
They're inexpensive, adjustable and very sturdy.
