Have you ever seen that show Animal Precinct on the Animal Planet channel?

Well, I am an online officer for a new show entitled Tuba Precinct on the Brass Planet channel. I search out those who might be abusing tubas and make them put their clothes back on.

I only noticed that a Tupperware® mouthpiece is used. I gues a normal brass mouthpiece (silver or gold plated) would burn one's lips. Just my guess.

Is that available on basic cable, or is it only pay-per-view?
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

thats a mouthpiece??? I thought it was a hookah.

I wonder if the acoustical properties of bass changes at extreme temperatures like that.

I'm a very innocent, naive one for a Southern Californian.

Actually, it's more than likely a DEG nylon cup mouthpiece. I have one for my son who has hypersensitivity/allergic reaction to bare metal. Of course, nylon, as well as other synthetics, such as the Kelly, are less sensitive to temperature variance.

I know. I own one. I call it Tupperware@ because it feels and looks like Tupperware®.

just for the record, the tubist with the mouthpiece is Harri Lidsle. He is a very active and popular tuba player in Finland. Harri also served as our ITEC host in 2001. The tuba sauna was located outside Sibelius Hall and was kind of a funny tribute to life in Finland.

True. And actually you could play with this tuba while you were in the sauna. One of our top composers in Finland, Atso Almila, made a piece especially for this "tubasauna". This tuba is St. Petersburg tuba and is now located in saunamuseum Finland. Harri also arranged this tuba throwing competition.
