Dalyan Euphonium

Has anyone actually played one of these euphoniums? Lee Hipp? Bloke? Rick Denny?

It's kind of hard to think of a euphonium being a "Kaiser" model with piston valves. But looking at the specs, it's yet another knockoff of the Yamaha YEP-321, just like the Weril H980. It's a good design, but I wonder why the YEP-621 (3+1) isn't cloned instead.

I have not tried a Dalyan euphonium, myself. I have a friend who has purchased one and likes it, though. That's about all I know.

this is often accredited to spoofing Yamaha, did they actually do this design first? There are many other major companies that use a similar design...

Well, I always believed that Yamaha started out by imitating Besson and Alexander...

But, in the arena of 4-valve non-compensating euphoniums, would it be safe to say that Yamaha has the most popular model--and is therefor the logical target for cloning?

Lee told me that the f tuba was perfect for Bydlo due to its size and the fact it has an awesome high g#.
