if your gonna spend the money on a horn for school you should get a versitile CC that you could carry onto your early profeccional carrer.

If you have the money and you are positive that music is what you want to do in life, go for it. I believe that when you are looking at CC tubas, you should try and get the best thing money can buy. If you buy a Thor and it's a good horn, it could potentially last a lifetime. I never understood this whole "starter horn for college" business.

Some info that I came across stated that it was derived from the B&S 605 BBb with a few modifications, of course to bring it to CC, and adding the piston valveset.

I have a Thor copper-headed mallet I use to knock off the hubs of my Jaguar E-type when I have to change or balance a tire. I'm sure it could "modify" a lot of other things. Does that count?

No, it only works on undo's. Don't know how well it works on "do's"...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Believe me, it works on "do's" to get the hubs tightened just fine. 8)

Isn't that called a B&S 606 CC?
