Repair person in Corpus Christi or South Texas

Post by Yutakatuba »

Can anyone here recommend a tuba repair person in Corpus Christi or South Texas area? I am having a minor problem with my rotor. It probably needs a good cleaning.

Thanks!

I don't know of ANYONE who does good repair work here. Maybe you can make the trip to San Antonio? Good luck!

I take my horn to HS Music. The brass guy is great and doesn't try to BS you. Very good work and quite reasonable. Take it easy Yutaka!

There is a guy on the South Side named Pete. I hear he is the best guy in town, although you can't drop your instrument off.

I will pm you the details.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. It turns out, the problem is more complicated than I thought. Who would you say the best repair person for tuba in San Antonio, Austin, Houston or south?

Well I like the repairman from HS Music. Michael mentioned Pete on the southside and he's good from what I've heard. Ray Grim(TubaRay)also knows of a couple of others in San Antonio. Sumner Erickson uses this guy who I can't remember in Austin. I don't know of anybody from Houston because I'm never there..haha. Good luck and send me a PM if you need some of their numbers.
