I didn't comment on hockey, or tuba repair, or Joe's tuba mailbox... today.

Are you sure? I thought he only played Mahillon tubas from Belgium during that time in his life.
This was thousand of years before the current Howard Johnson - it was still York #3 that he played, made thousands of years before Yorks #1 and #2.

When I talked to HoJo at the First National Tuba-Euphonium Symposium-Workshop at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (in 1975), he mentioned that he only played Mahillon.

Of course he said that to you. The York is a secret, remember?

And be very careful, LT, if you don't know the secret fingering of the inner circle- remember, Jimmy Hoffa stumbled upon #3 years ago, and look what happened to him!

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

I have to hear this story.

I was two years too young to be in the Vietnam War. And I have never been to Hanoi, just Saigon and a few of the villages northeast of there.

My foreign duty assignment in the Army was Berlin, Germany.

This sounds like a VERY INTERESTING STORY Joe!

Actually HJ now plays a new MW, which they made for him to replace his Mahillion. it is basically a copy of the Mahillion. they just had the release of the new horn at Dillons in Febrauary I believe.
Actually HJ played a bass sax in the old KT skit on SNL with SM.
