Did any of you vets use pouches? We did. We even did entire "Pouch Gigs." We even saved our PAO a few times when we got to a job site and found out that we had been misinformed (by the PAO) as to what the presenter wanted us to do.
I did many, many pouch gigs. These were not usually very remarkable, except for when an NCO decided it was time to dig deep into the pouch. THEN it was fun.

I dunno. If his arm was extended, but with his palm facing the tubas, then we might also interpret that as the universal sign of non-endorsement usually associated with most band directors.
Might we then interpret his lack of a sign of non-endorsement as being, in fact, an endorsement?

It'd be dangerous to assume that anyone over 15 wasn't capable of dishing out socially unacceptable, widespread destruction... especially under the influence of alcohol... on the 50 yard line.... at the Coliseum...
